JEWEL STEELE

This Jewel shines as bright as any star, no diamond in the rough here! Fatefully falling in love with electric guitars on a trip to Guitar Center with her drummer dad when she was only nine years old, she has matured into an outstanding player who dominates the stage as she fronts the family rock band STEREO LOVE, performing double duty on lead guitar and lead vocals.

The band started out as a covers act with Jewel playing alongside her bassist sister, Lula and drummer dad, Judd. But as Jewel matured into her role, she saw the potential for more – learning other people’s hit songs gave her an insight into how to write great songs herself – and by the age of fourteen, had become the band’s principal songwriter, with STEREO LOVE now loading its set with a slew of memorable originals as well as a number of impressive covers with a STEREO LOVE twist.

Jewel has a commanding presence, a rich and powerful voice, and having started playing so young, now boasts a talent well beyond her years as a guitarist. With more than 600 live performances under her belt, this 24 year old can captivate and control an audience like a seasoned pro. With influences as diverse as Muse, Linkin Park, Weezer, Foo Fighters and Karen Carpenter, Jewel Steele is much more than just another rocker, and has also earned a reputable artist relationship with Gibson Guitars.

LULA STEELE

bassist/backing vocals

Lula Steele has played bass guitar for literally more than half her young life. Inspired by her father to become a musician and following in the footsteps of her bassist grandfather, she began her career on the upright bass and was the only female bass player in her middle school orchestra. Lula hammers that bass with the confidence of a seasoned pro, a versatile performer who draws on influences as diverse as 50 Cent, Paramore, Death Cab For Cutie, and LA’s own Red Hot Chili Peppers. In unique combination with her sister and father, Lula makes up one third of west coast family rock band STEREO LOVE. You might also recognize Lula playing bass in the punk rock band ‘Bit of Decay’ on the Hulu series “Light As A Feather”. Lula has experience beyond her years, and despite her quiet offstage demeanor, she’s a powerful presence on stage, a true professional delivering backing vocals as well as those fluid, powerful bass lines which underpin the band’s lauded performances. She has also earned a prestigious artist relationship with Gibson Guitars.

JUDD W STEELE

drummer/father/bodyguard

One of the most respected and experienced drummers on the Los Angeles music scene, Judd Steele has lived his entire life as a drummer. He follows in the footsteps of his father who toured across the country for sixteen years with Bruce ‘Bubbles’ Becker, selling out venues from New York’s Roseland Ballroom to Pasadena Civic Auditorium. The family ended up in San Diego when his dad retired from the road, and it wasn’t long before Judd decided that he was going to set out on his own journey behind the kit, almost inevitably gravitating to Los Angeles where he would make his name as the powerhouse behind several L.A favorites including two ‘best new band’ award winners in Broadside and Power Animal. Eventually he lost enthusiasm for playing in other people’s bands and decided to do something positive with his talent, putting together a band which toured war zones in Afghanistan and beyond, entertaining the troops. But with his young daughters growing up at home it was time to return. Which could have meant getting a regular job, but on a fateful trip to Guitar Center for fresh drumsticks his nine year old daughter Jewel wandered off into the guitar section and fell in love with what she saw. A course of guitar lessons ensued, her sister Lula decided she wasn’t going to be left out and took up the bass, and dad had a band. In his checkered career Judd has shared the stage with or recorded with such lauded rockers as Quiet Riot, Blue Oyster Cult, Yngwie Malmsteen, Lita Ford, Santana, Poison, Warrant, The Dickies and Tony MacAlpine, and now channels his years of experience into STEREO LOVE as they mature into one of the brightest hopes of the current rock scene, with Judd playing double duty as proud papa and bodyguard while laying down the thunderous beats which propel his family band.
